Where Kansas posts its bids
- State bids
- Kansas eSupplier Portal: Public Bidding Events. The Office of Procurement and Contracts (Kansas Department of Administration) posts state agency bid events here. The public bid list opens without a login, though the PeopleSoft page needs cookies enabled.
- Register as a vendor
- Bidder Registration (eSupplier / SMART). You must be registered in SMART to respond to any bid event. Registered bidders get notices for events that match their category codes, and invited bidders get the bid documents by email.
- Small business certification
- Office of Small Business certification (Kansas Department of Commerce). Kansas Commerce's Office of Small Business runs the state's business certification portal and a searchable directory of certified firms. Contact the office with questions about which certification fits.
- Free bid coaching
- Kansas APEX Accelerator: the state's APEX Accelerator helps small businesses with registrations and proposals at no cost.
Big city, county and agency buyers
Each of these runs its own bid page, and most want you registered in their system too.

- Kansas uses the UNSPSC category code system, with over 40,000 codes, to match bidders to bid notices, so pick your codes before you register. source
- Johnson County distributes all formal solicitations through jocogov.ionwave.net, and vendor registration there is free of charge. source
- Sedgwick County accepts electronic responses by email to Purchasing@sedgwick.gov, with the RFB/RFP number in the subject line. source
