No Alaska bids on our vetted list at the moment. New ones turn up most weeks; the free Monday email brings the best five.
Where Alaska posts its bids
- State bids
- Alaska Online Public Notices. Run by the Office of the Lieutenant Governor. State Invitations to Bid and Requests for Proposals over $100,000 are posted here alongside other public notices; browsing and search work without logging in.
- Register as a vendor
- IRIS Vendor Self Service (VSS). The state's procurement office says vendors need a VSS registration to receive updates or to take part in IRIS procurement and purchasing. Departments buy directly, so it also helps to contact each department's procurement manager.
- Small business certification
- Alaska Disadvantaged Business Enterprise Program (AUCP). DBE certification from the DOT&PF Civil Rights Office under 49 CFR Part 26. It covers federally funded highway, transit, airport and highway safety contracts.
- Free bid coaching
- Alaska APEX Accelerator: the state's APEX Accelerator helps small businesses with registrations and proposals at no cost.

Good to know
- State purchases of supplies and services valued at $25,000 or less may be made without competition; $25,000.01 to $100,000 uses quotes or informal proposals; over $100,000 goes out as an ITB or RFP on Online Public Notices. source
- Qualifying Alaska bidders get a 5% Alaska Bidder preference, and a valid Alaska business license is required to be awarded a state contract. source
- The Municipality of Anchorage pays the Bid Express agency fees, so vendors can view and submit bids at no cost and do not need a paid subscription. source
